BENEFIT CONCERT
ALS Society and Cape Breton Palliative Care Present Men of Faith & Guests in
an Evening of Favourite Gospel Hymns on Sunday, June 17th, 7:30 pm at Our Lady
of Fatima Church, Sydney River. Tickets $10.00 per person. For tickets call

SPRING CONCERT
The Spring Concert of the Cape Breton Gaelic Choir will take place at Holy
Angels Auditorium, Sydney on Friday, May 11th at 7:30 pm. The program features
Choral, Instrumental and Dance Numbers and Vocal Solos. Admission is $12.00. The
Gaelic Choir is under the direction of Shauna Doolan.
CEMETERY WORK NIGHT May 7th
The Cemetery "Work Night", St.Mary's Parish, Big Pond is set for Monday, May
7th, beginning at 6:00pm. A good turnout will be greatly appreciated. Don't
forget to bring a rake, etc. If it is raining on Monday, the clean-up work will
be done on Tuesday evening.
MASS FOR PEACE
A mass in honor of Our Lady, Queen of Peace, will be celebrated on Wednesday,
May 9th at St.Mary's Polish Church, Whitney Pier at 7:00pm The Mass will be
offered for World Peace. All are invited to attend.
PASTORAL AIRS:
Pastoral Airs will be presented at St. Mary's Church, Big Pond on Sunday, July 8th at 7:30 pm. It will feature the music of Winnie Chafe, Jimmie MacNeil, Donnie Campbell, Shauna Doolan and others. Admission is $8.00, at the door. Lunch to follow in the Big Pond Hall.
OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE MASS:
The annual Mass in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, Johnstown on
Sunday, July 8th at 2:00 pm. We extend a cordial invitation to priests, religious and parishioners from other parishes to attend this outdoor Mass at the Shrine. Clergy and members of other churches along with visitors and tourists are also most welcome to attend.
STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL:
There will be a Strawberry Festival at Sacred Heart Parish Hall, Johnstown on
Sunday, July 8th from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Price: $6.00 for adults. $3.00 for children. There will be lots of strawberries, biscuits and bonnach. Come and enjoy a great afternoon.
ART EXHIBIT:
An Art Exhibit featuring works of local artists in oil, water and sketching will take place from
July 14 - 22 at St. Mary's Parish Hall, Big Pond. Viewing times from
1-4:00 pm daily.
Some items will be offered for sale.
